To develop a practical knowledge of writing for live performers, including stage plays, educational theatre and standup comedy, modelled on arts and industry practices.
Script construction; underlying themes; dramatic genre; style and structure; creating a scenario - story plotting; characterisation and action; building dramatic tension; verbal and visual considerations; dialogue and sub text; analytic skills, specific techniques for different media; presentational context and audience reception and use of dramaturgy, workshop and tryout processes in developing and re-drafting with to feed-back.
