To introduce students to current practices, concepts and issues in journalism, both within Australia and in a global context.
Students will become familiar with key concepts in journalism including news values and news judgement. They will develop skills in and understanding of the fundamentals of newsgathering and interviewing, and will be introduced to differences in reporting styles and skills across media. Students will also have opportunities to begin reflecting on career paths in journalism and related areas.
