Computers and Information Management

Course aim

To examine the role of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) in society and the use of specific ICT applications in administration and information management.

Course content

Social theories of technology and impacts of computers; ethical issues relating to ICT, computers as social technology, its components and functions of each; information theories, types, characteristics and purpose of each type of information system; roles of computers in design, organisation, and storage of information; computer applications and its role in information management; management of personal information.
