To develop knowledge in the theory and applications of specialised diagnostic and research procedures and to extend studies on organ and systems based pathology.
Collection and cytological analysis of gynaecological smears, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract cytology, fine needle aspiration cytology. Theory and application of transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Diagnostic electron microscopy. Procedures for the preparation of muscle and bone for histopathological assessment. Principles and uses of immunohistochemistry and hybridization histochemistry. Image analysis - manual, automated and computer-assisted tissue measurement techniques. Pathology of urinary system, neuro-muscular pathology.
