To extend the student’s knowledge of haematological disorders and the techniques used in their evaluation. To develop problem-solving skills that will be relevant to working in a diagnostic haematology laboratory. To develop student skills in researching and presenting haematology topics.
Anaemia, thalassaemia and haemoglobinopathies,; leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes, multiple myeloma and related disorders; malaria; paediatric and obstetric haematology; blood film morphology; cytochemistry; flow cytometry, cytogenetics and molecular techniques.
