Course aim

To instil an awareness of the techniques, strategies and expectations associated with creative non-fiction in the mainstream print media

Course content

Structure of written information in the mainstream media; news value judgments in a democratic society; essential reporting, interviewing and writing techniques; comparison between news and feature writing; style variations for defined publications and their readers; ethical considerations; the balance between information and entertainment in the creative non-fiction genre.
