To build on the web design skills students have developed in previous courses and integrate their knowledge of web design techniques with the ability to apply these skills in professional practice.
Students will develop advanced web development techniques including W3C coding standards, accessibility, usability, integrating web markup into content management systems and responding to emerging technologies as well as the ability to communicate effectively in an online format. Students will also develop professional communication skills including ability to identify client needs, prepare design specifications and translate those into a professional final product. Students will manage the design and development process such as maintain thorough documentation, observe copyright requirements and meet international standards for accessibility.
