To further develop students’ skills and knowledge required for the close editing of a wide range of texts and to prepare them for the appropriate method of publication.
Students will acquire skills in the close editing of a wide range of texts, and also knowledge about the changing theoretical and practical approach to graphic design and publication as a result of changes in technology, and current issues in copyright. They will be mentored and encouraged to establish contact with the networks operating in the field, eg the Society of Editors, the Australian Society for Technical Communication, the Macquarie Style Council to be able to maintain future professional development.
