Course aim

To develop practical and written skills in communication, and to build understanding of the nature of physical, oral and written presentation.

Course content

Through dramatic games and exercises this course brings an awareness of play, body and voice. The dramatic skills of presentation are developed through individual and group performances. Focused exercises on the body and voice build awareness of the communicative potential of both. Observation, reflection and critical evaluation of the exercises are combined with relevant readings to foster a practical and theoretical understanding of the dramatic principles of communication. Students read and understand texts; argue a case and write an academic essay outlining such principles
