Course aim

To prepare students to undertake a major project, including the production of a research project proposal or an urban design brief or analysis.

Course content

Definition of a research area and literature search. An introduction to a range of research approaches, methods of data and information management, communication methods. Ethics in research. Project scheduling. Report writing techniques.

Note: If a student is undertaking either the ‘social and community planning’ or ‘environmental planning’ major, then the project topic must be of relevance to the major and approved by the Program Director.
