Course aim

To develop an understanding of the range of ethical issues relevant to working as a professional planner in urban and rural environments.

Course content

Ethical issues in urban, regional and environmental planning. Codes of behaviour in professional planning practice. The ‘precautionary principle’ in planning and environmental policy and law. Planners as experts in planning appeals.
