Course aim

To provide students with an understanding of the Australian legal system, the regulatory framework surrounding the construction industry, and the key principles of the law of contract.

Course content

Introduction to the Australian legal system. Introduction to statutory regulation of the construction industry. Offer and acceptance. Consideration. The contents of the contract. Privity of contract. Duress. Mistake. Misleading and deceptive conduct. Discharge of a contract. Remedies for breach of contract.
