At the end of this course students will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in respect to all the building materials and techniques included in the construction of a residential project.
The course covers the technical design and construction requirements for residential and non-habitable buildings and structures in the following areas: Planning, site preparation, services, foundations, floor, wall and roof framing, roof and wall cladding, glazing, ceiling and interior linings, energy efficiency, fixtures and fittings, cabinetry, wet areas, finishes, external works, variations, defects, handover and final completion.
