Course aim

To further develop students’ proficiency in spoken and written French at an intermediate level, extend their knowledge of French culture and society and enhance their intercultural understanding.

Course content

Vocabulary, structures and texts related to a range of more specialised themes; extending linguistic accuracy, complexity, flexibility and fluency; strategies for effective spoken and written communication; preparation for some sections of the DELF 1er degree (A5, A6) (Official diplomas administrated by the French Ministry of Education); intercultural knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks in the set texts; a range of spoken and written texts including articles from the press and other media as well as contemporary literature; a negotiated project in which students will interact with French language and culture in a context outside the classroom.
