To develop an understanding of aviation operations and management by focusing on the purpose, structure and performance of key aviation organisations.
The role and function of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and national aviation authority’s (e.g Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), Federal Aviation Authority (FAA)). The role and function of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Federation of Airline Pilot Associations (IFALPA). The relevance of these organisations to the professional pilot. The issues for aviation organisations (e.g Airlines, flight training operators): resources, finance, human resources, infrastructure, planning, marketing, evaluation, national and international regulation.
