Course aim

To develop students' understanding of the skills and concepts required to create animations for game development and extend this into non-game visual communication.

Course content

Students will develop skills and techniques to create their own Machinima. Students will learn about the process of concepting and storyboarding and how to take this into production work, utilising aspects such as cameras, lighting, and post production editing to tell a story. Within the course, students will be taught filming and story development techiques that apply to traditional film and how these can be used in a Real-time 3D framework. The three assessment tasks will provide an opportunity for students to combine their skills and techniques to create their own film working as the 'director', as well as collaborate with class members to work as the 'actors' in other students' films.
