To develop the skills and understanding to create composited animations for game development and extend this into non-game visual communication.
Introduction to Machinima ‘the art of film making using computer game engines’ – its historical development, theoretical underpinnings, and application in the contemporary game industry. Introduction to 2D/3D animation theory. Development of composited animations using machinima tools for the purpose of ‘cut-scenes’ in games and wider inclusion in game and non-game related video projects. Exploration of ‘Interactive Storytelling’ concepts using current virtual world technology.
