Develop further understanding of the principles of Public Relations and its practice and effects in contemporary society through issues and case study analysis and practice based problem solving.
This course extends and develops understanding and application of public relations theories and practice, as introduced in Public Relations 1. It aims to explore and provide analysis of the role and practice of Public Relations in critical areas of practice, specifically issues management, event management, crisis management, media management. The course also explores the use of both new and traditional media in contemporary public relations practice; the integration of public relations with marketing and advertising and the importance of sophisticated use of language and visual communication in contemporary public relations practice.
