To provide students with the knowledge and skills to understand and analyse complex transport issues and develop and conceptualise advanced and sophisticated transport solutions in the form of regulations, policies and strategies.
Students will develop an understanding of how transport issues and society’s challenges can be translated into transport policy and objectives, and eventual transport management strategies and plans. Students will gain an understanding of the challenges of transport behavioural change, the role of governance in developing and managing transport policy within the opportunities and constraints presented by political, economic, financial, environmental and societal contexts, working with the private sector to deliver better transport outcomes, and funding approaches to support investment in transport infrastructure. Students will develop the capability and confidence to create transport policy objectives, policies, regulatory frameworks, project and infrastructure funding arrangements, strategic and operational plans, and communicate these to a range of audiences.
