To enable students to demonstrate skills and knowledge as they adopt the role of educator in a birth to three setting.
Students will undertake supervised placements and develop knowledge of the role and expectations of educators of children in the age group of birth to 3 years old. Students will explore the regulatory frameworks, policies, legal and ethical considerations, health, safety and nutrition issues, authentic curriculum planning for very young children, professional self development and reflective practice, managing behaviour, importance of relationships and communication with parents, staff and children, and developing and maintaining a professional experience portfolio.
