To know and be able to reflect on current perspectives about how children develop cognitively, and the implications of these approaches for children’s learning, including: memory, problem-solving (social and scientific), intelligence, theory of mind, brain development, and inquiry learning.
Approaches to cognitive development and learning; the development of cognition in the early years including the role of interpersonal relationships, context and culture; perceptual and attentional processes; memory; problem solving (social and scientific); metacognition; , theory of mind; intelligence and IQ, brain development and spirituality and aesthetics.
