To extend the students’:
A course in advanced experimental work, under supervision, in the areas of medical radiations and instrumentation physics. Experimental work is supported by resource sessions on each topic.
Medical Radiations: Radiation quantities and units, biological effects of ionising radiation, x-ray production and properties, radiation monitoring, attenuation of radiation in matter, half-life determination, radiation scattering.
Instrumentation Physics: Fundamental concepts, linear resistive networks, dependent sources, operational amplifiers, non-linear circuit elements, digital circuits and applications, microprocessors.
