To investigate health-related physical fitness and to develop the expertise to assist others to take up and safely enjoy a wide range of healthy active lifestyles, particularly for children of primary and middle school age.
Fitness and wellness concepts; health benefits of physical activity; H&PE Learning Area of the SACSA Framework; preparing for physical activity; exercise cautions; cardiovascular fitness; injury prevention and management; care of the neck and back; flexibility programs; relationships and sexual health education for young people; stress management and relaxation; lifestyles for healthy living; State and National fitness programs; fun fitness activities appropriate for primary and middle school students; fitness assessments.
