Course aim

To further develop students' knowledge and skills to apply performance concepts and processes to music production and performance of various genres and styles (pop, rock, jazz, world music, classical, etc.). They will continue to critically examine live and recorded music performance and will study the major trends and genre characteristics of western music from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Course content

Students will continue to develop their knowledge and skills to apply performance concepts and processes to music production and performance of various genres and styles (pop, rock, jazz, world music, classical, etc.). They will study the characteristics and practices of the Australian and international music industry and the history and major trends of popular music. Students will have the opportunity to plan and devise a portfolio presenting their original creative output.
