To develop students' music performance and music production skills by examining music performance concepts and processes, and exploring western music with the music of ancient civilisation and Medieval Europe.
Students will be introduced to music performance concepts and processes as applied to the music performance of various genres and styles (pop, rock, jazz, world music, classical, etc.). They will learn to critically examine live and recorded music performance and will be introduced to the history and characteristics of music of ancient civilisations and Medieval Europe. Students will be singing and/or playing in ensembles and solo, and will participate in the production and performance of live music.
