Course aim

To achieve an active working knowledge and applied skills in the field of environmental management systems with a focus on ISO 14001 and Eco-mapping. This will involve understanding of the processes involved in developing and maintaining environmental management systems and the benefits to be gained by organisations with an active EMS.

Course content

ESD, Agenda 21; Environmental Management and the ISO14000 series; EMAS. Globalisation and environmental management. Environmental Impact assessment, Components of environmental management systems, including auditing, accreditation, organisational reviews and performance measurement. Eco-mapping based EMS development and ISO 14001
