UniSA Education Futures
To develop preservice teachers’ theoretical, conceptual, and practical understanding of the design and technologies learning area and relevant curriculum.
Preservice teachers will develop an understanding of design and technologies as it relates to the Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework. This includes developing experiences in planning and programming, including design briefs and design folios, and cross curricula opportunities. Furthermore, preservice teachers will develop a practical understanding of the learning area which is complemented through a critical analysis of contemporary pedagogies. Preservice teachers will gain experience with resources for teaching and learning while developing a greater awareness of occupational health, safety and welfare considerations.
