Design and Technology Education

Course aim

To develop students’ theoretical, conceptual and practical understanding of the Technologies learning area.

Course content

Students will develop understanding of Technologies as it relates to the Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework. This includes developing experience in planning and programming, including design briefs and design folios, as well as gaining greater understanding of cross curricula opportunities. Students will furthermore develop practical understanding of the learning area which is complemented through a critical analysis of contemporary teaching methods. Students will gain experience with resources for teaching and learning while developing greater awareness of OHSW issues.
