Course aim

To introduce students to the principles of teaching Health and Physical Education (HPE) in early childhood, community and primary school settings.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge in the role and nature of HPE within the curriculum, factors affecting motor development and critical aspects of the teaching and learning process. Students will develop skills in teaching methodologies appropriate for the HPE lesson planning, instructional processes, strategies for meeting diverse and special needs and critical reflection.
