Course aim

To enable students to understand the operation of the rural real estate market.

Course content

Value of standing crop, farm improvements and water licences. Selling and valuation characteristics for the major industries types; grazing, intensive livestock, annual horticulture, perennial horticulture, cropping, forests, dairying, exotic livestock. Goodwill and rural properties. Influences of management on value. Valuation of properties after dramatic changes to industry profitability. Statutes restricting and controlling land use on land values. The effect of leasehold tenure on value.
