Course aim

To provide students with knowledge and skills to strategically and successfully manage businesses in the construction environment.

Course content

Organisational structures and behaviour of construction firms; Strategic management principles (SWOT analysis, goal setting, monitoring etc.); Management principles; Head office function, personnel and resources; Leadership and communication; Business planning/strategy; Business relationships; Marketing principles; Fundamental financial accounting principles (profit & loss statements, balance sheets, debt management etc.); project management body of knowledge applied to business management; Business Ethics.
