To build on students' understanding of religion by providing an exploration of the religious traditions of ancient Egypt and Greece.
The students will develop an overview of the ancient Egyptian and Greek history, geography, the gods and the myths. The students will investigate the key religious beliefs particularly about the afterlife and fate; sacred places such as temples and tombs; the important rituals of the temples particularly festivals and rituals concerned with the afterlife; personal religion; oracles and divination, religion and magic.
