To investigate theatre in the European period of occupation in Australia.
Students will build on their knowledge on performance traditions and playwriting by examining Australian mainstream and alternative stage practice including convict theatre, melodrama, farce, vaudeville, radio drama, post-war, new wave, community, black, feminist, youth, ensemble and verbatim theatre.
