To further develop students' practical and theoretical understanding of European theatre performance traditions and techniques.
Students explore stage images, situations,relationships and forms that realise playwrights, directors and performers social and political commentary upon society. Students develop knowledge of a particular theatrical form from Greek and Roman performance, medieval and renaissance performance, commedia dell’arte, naturalism, expressionism, modern or post-modern performance. Students apply performance skills to staging specific theatrical genres.
