To familiarise students with the basic methodologies for conducting research in behavioural science and to introduce them to a range of commonly used statistical tests.
Basic research designs and methodologies. Basic descriptive and inferential statistics. Data screening. Significance and effect size. Selection of appropriate statistical tests. An introduction to statistical computation with SPSS for Windows. Interpretation of results of statistical tests. Introduction to research design and evaluation. Ethics. APA style research report writing.
