To introduce students to the analysis of radio as a cultural technology.
Radio vocality and presenter style; conversatopma; analysis; critical discourse analysis; social semiotics; radio genres: music radio, DJ, talkshow host, talkback host, breakfast radio, news radio, radio interviewing; station identity and formats; radio audience research; radio governance; advertising and promotions; history of radio and ‘lost’ formats: radio drama, radio serials, radio comedy.
