Course aim

To develop students’ ability to understand and critically analyse the role played by information systems and technology issues within business and societal environments.

Course content

Business Information Systems examines how organisations design, manage and use information systems and technology as important corporate resource, within the context of the concepts, principles, processes, techniques and issues of modern computerised business information systems. Students will analyse real-world teaching cases of Information Systems use within organisations to familiarise them with databases, decision-making and the evolving use of the Internet for organisational purposes – as well as to understand how to analyse and resolve business problems and the enhancement of business opportunities.
