Course aim

The overall aim of the courses is to prepare students for postgraduate study and research or for employment in an industrial research and development position.

Course content

The student will undertake a research project in a relevant field under supervision. Projects will be available in areas relating to research activities of Applied Physics staff. Projects may also be undertaken in collaboration with other Schools within the University and external organisations or companies. Completion of the project requires the preparation and presentation of a minor thesis and the presentation of a seminar on the project. At least 500 hours of student effort will be required to complete the project and thesis.
