To introduce students to the study of buildings under load, the analysis of simple structures.

Structural concepts and whole building design, Forces and reactions, Forces in structural frameworks, Direct stress and strain, Properties of structural sections , Shearing force and bending moments, Stresses in beams , Deflection of beams , Indeterminate structures , Introductory structural design.
