UniSA Foundation Studies (Mount Gambier)

UniSA Foundation Studies is a free1, one-year program for students with no previous qualifications, or for school leavers without an ATAR. You will get a taste of university and learn the skills you need to study for your degree, including:
As a Foundation Studies student you will take courses on campus and will have access to our full range of support services. Flexible study options are available, such as full-time or part-time and external (online) studies, depending on your course selection. Upon successful completion, you can use your grade point average (GPA) to apply for any UniSA degree (a competitive GPA is required).

Studying externally (online) gives you the flexibility to study where and when you want, at your own pace. Some of the courses offered through UniSA College can be studied online. You can choose your study mode when you enrol. With interactive online course materials and a 24/7 digital environment, you can also:
You will study core courses to develop your critical writing, study skills, communication skills and research skills. You will also study six elective courses for an introduction to the study areas you may be interested in. There are a range of electives available to study internally (on campus) at Mount Gambier. You can specialise in any of these areas, but you must make sure to include any prerequisite subjects for your future degree among the courses you choose.
Your study schedule will be divided into contact hours (the time you spend doing lectures and tutorials) and independent study, including your personal research and assignment work. Study hours depend on the courses you choose and the amount of additional work you put in. Generally, full-time study is equivalent to 40 hours per week.
