Honours Educational Research: Theory, Literature and Policy

Course aim

For preservice teachers to locate, engage with, critique and synthesise educational theory, policy and literature to inform and appraise practice.

Course content

This course is a broad introduction to educational research including a range of educational theories that underpin understandings of education and teaching practice. Preservice teachers will develop skills and knowledge of how to locate, engage with, critique and synthesise literature, policy, research and educational theory to critically analyse and appraise their pedagogical decision making.

All prior courses in years 1-3 of the program schedule must be successfully completed before enrolling in this course. This applies to full-time and part-time enrolments. Any variation will need the approval of the Program Director.
