To further develop students' understandings and principles to inform decision making in planning, teaching, resource selection, adaptation and design, and assessing English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Students will further develop their understanding of the features of TESOL settings, the factors affecting TESOL and the teacher agency in TESOL. Students will develop principles of learning and teaching English as an additional language; setting up interactive learning, including the use of ICT; communicative, genre-based discourse and intercultural approaches; connections with other areas of learning (in educational settings including early childhood settings); criteria for evaluating language learning activities, resources and assessment practices; principles for selecting and adapting learning resources and designing activities, lessons and units of work.
