Course aim

To introduce students to issues surrounding the broader role that recreation plays in contributing to wellness, life quality and health in contemporary communities.

Course content

Leisure, health and wellness, trends in wellness, recreation and healthy communities, subjective well-being and quality of life, depression, stress and mental health, corporate health, therapeutic recreation, managing active aging, body image and exercise dependence, social capital and community recreation, health promotion and recreation, population health policy and managing community, recreation and special populations
