Course aim

To introduce to students the fundamentals of intelligent and digital control techniques and provide them with the understanding of the various aspects of the theory and applications to industrial control.

Course content

Modelling of control systems in discrete-time; analysis and design of discrete-time systems; design of digital controllers in classical and state-space domains; introduction to fuzzy logic as applied to control systems, formulation and design of intelligent controllers, analysis and evaluation of intelligent controllers, practical implementation considerations.
Note - conceded and terminating passes will be available for undergraduates taking this course but not postgraduates.
