Course aim

To develop skills in applying advanced transport network modelling software at micro and macro levels.

Course content

Analytical models, static and dynamic simulation models in traffic and transport systems engineering. Models at micro, meso, and macro levels. The principles in selecting appropriate models for a given task. Network coding processes, GIS road network, preparation of network attributes, practices in model calibration, field observations, and principles of model validation. Interpretation of model outcomes.
