Course aim

To prepare students to undertake a major research project in a specialist area of civil engineering.

Course content

The investigation project requires an in-depth study of a specific topic in any area of civil engineering, which may be a desktop study but will also generally involve a laboratory or field investigation. Available topics will vary every year. In all cases, students will be assessed as successful in the project if they can demonstrate special knowledge of the topic and provide insights into how that knowledge may be improved.
