To provide students with an overview of the advanced coursework topics related to Nano- and Biomaterials, with particular emphasis on the materials science; colloid science; polymer science; biomimetic materials, nanoparticle preparation and modification; wetting; surface chemistry; biomaterials and bio-interfaces; . mineral processing; spectroscopy; surface modification; surface analysis.
Topics to be selected from: Material Science; polymer science; biomimetic materials. colloid science; surface chemistry; biomaterials and bio-interfaces; nanoparticle preparation and modification; wetting; spectroscopy; surface modification; surface analysis; At the discretion of the Honours Coordinator other topics, including ones taught outside the IWRI (for example mathematical methods, or topics from comparable Honours programs at other universities) may be included or substituted.

Undergraduate courses in chemistry, mathematics, biology/biotechnology, physics, nanotechnology and/or materials science. Preparatory lectures are offered in the course for those who do not have sufficient background in mathematics or surface chemistry.
