Course aim

To develop the knowledge and skills to evaluate and design/redesign a product for ease of assembly, manufacture, and disassembly, along with whole-of-life considerations

Course content

Concepts and fundamentals of DFMA, DFMA for Concurrent Engineering, DFMA criteria for retaining components for redesign of a product; Design for Assembly principles and techniques, Design for Manufacture (material selection and design for machining), Design for Disassembly principles and practices.
