Course aim

To undertake a supervised research problem or to study a new area of fundamental or applied mathematics or statistics.

Course content

Students will undertake, individually or in a small group, a research project proposed by an identified supervisor. 
Projects can be in the form of a small part of a larger research project currently being investigated by an academic, a self-contained, small research problem, a literature study to initiate a larger program of research, or an opportunity for the student to study an area of advanced mathematics or statistics not covered in the program curriculum, but which is of interest to the student and/or supervisor.
