When you study our fully accredited Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree you will learn from Australia’s leading exercise scientists and high-performance coaches and engage with industry through more than 140 hours of placement across a range of settings, including schools and sporting clubs. You’ll also benefit from elite sporting partnerships.

Our Bachelor of Human Movement offers you the chance to tailor your degree to your interests and career goals with a variety of study streams, and opportunities to follow on from the degree with postgraduate studies in teaching, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. You’ll graduate industry-ready when you complete practical workplace experience.

When you choose our Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours), you will be studying SA’s only degree to qualify you as an accredited exercise physiologist in four years. You’ll provide services in our on-campus High Performance Sport Centre and Exercise Physiology Clinics and gain practical experience when you complete more than 600 clinical placement hours across a range of SA’s best clinical exercise facilities.

Careers are diverse and you could find work in the sport, fitness and rehabilitation, health, education or recreation industries. Careers to consider:

  • exercise scientist: use a combination of biomechanics, physiology, psychology and performance analysis to help assess and ultimately increase an individual’s fitness, sporting performance and general health
  • accredited exercise physiologist: deliver clinical exercise, lifestyle and behaviour modification programs to prevent and treat injury and disease
  • physical training specialist: advise clients on exercise, health, wellbeing and nutrition; develop and implement individual training plans
  • strength and conditioning coach: prepare athletes for high performance, enabling them the greatest advantage in competition
  • sports and fitness nutritionist: responsible for improving the health and optimising the performance of athletes
  • researcher: plan and conduct laboratory-based investigations, experiments and trials, and analyse results in order to broaden scientific understanding
  • community nutritionist: create changes in attitude toward nutrition and health; provide advice, guidance and support to the community
  • health promotion officer: plan and coordinate health promotion programs for various community groups

If you finish your undergraduate degree with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above, you may also be eligible for our one-year Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) where you can further develop your research skills and prepare for a career in research.
